1 open water
For the open water dive course, you will study online via E-learning. Once you have registered by sending all necessary information to your instructor, learning can begin. The practical course takes 3 days.
On the first day you will practice scuba skills in the swimming pool under the guidance of your certified instructor. You will learn lots of skills, such as building equipment, the name of the equipment, how to communicate underwater, buoyancy, underwater swimming technique, mask clearing and lots more. Your instructor will explain and demonstrate and give lots of time for practice and of course answer any questions over 3-4 hours, until you feel confident with all skills. On day 2, the second session takes place in open water. Often this takes place at Tulamben, which is approximately 1 hour away from Candidasa or Amed. After a thorough briefing you will begin diving. You will complete 2 dives with your instructor. The duration of each is around 50 minutes. You will enjoy the underwater world and practice skills. After the first dive we will take a 1 hour break where we can refresh, take lunch and discuss your first dive. There you can ask any questions. After that we will continue to the second dive.
Finally on the third day you will complete a boat dive. This usually takes place at Blue Lagoon and Japanese Cape which is 20 minutes away from Candidasa. You will learn skills such as how to get on and off the boat safely, and how to operate a dive computer and compass. You will see lots more of Bali’s beautiful underwater life. Once all three sessions are completed, your instructor will process your certification and welcome you to the world of certified divers!
